A cowboy of sorts...

Andrew disappeared into the office the other day for quite awhile. He was dead quiet. He likes to go in there and steal all my computer paper, staple the sheets together and color the pages. I was busy in the kitchen and just figured he was in the office making a book.

Then, several minutes later, I heard him wrestling with his dad in the other room and he was laughing hysterically. Tim and Andrew wrestling every night is pretty much tradition so I didn't think much of that either.

But then he comes around the corner and approaches me in this get-up...

He looks at me and says, word for word...

"Hello, I'm Cowboy Barbie and I hate to tell you this but I just kissed your husband."

Tim and Andrew have a long running Barbie war going on...but seriously, where does this kid come up with this stuff?

Huckleberry Heaven

Tim and I thought we missed out on the huckleberries this year. Thanks to a diligent sister-in-law, we can stuff our faces with all things huckleberry for quite a while. Karla found a great spot ridiculously close to town, that's just covered with berries. Red ones, purple ones, blue ones, fat ones...pure heaven!

The kids each picked about 5 berries before they got bored and decided to catch grasshoppers instead. We had sandwiches and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and came home nice and stinky and purple. Lovely!

Even more Flathead

Do we do anything other than go to Flathead Lake in the summer? Not really.
Another trip up to the lake, this time with sis Nikole and her kidlets. I'm just trying to get through my July pics. Almost there.

This little boy is never happier than when he's fishing

Does Lilly ever NOT have boogers in her nose?

I caught Turner using grandma & papa's pot lids as shoes. LOVE IT!

More Flathead

Andrew and I went up to the lake last month with Tim's sister Karla and her kids. She's got some adorably quirky little people.

This little guy, for example, just might be my favorite little person on the planet right now (except for my own son, because that just wouldn't be right, right?)

Tanner is soooo cute! He's obsessed with vacuums. The first thing he asked me when he came in my house was:

Tanner: "Do you have a vacuum?"

Me: "Yes"

Tanner: "Can I see it?"

Andrew's got a room full of Hot Wheels and trains and this kid wants to see my vacuum.

Then when we got up to the lake, he walked into my parents yurt and after a few minutes he spotted my moms vacuum. He shrieked!

"A VACUUM!!!"

Too cute, I tell ya. My mom was quite taken with him as well. He kept asking her, "Can I play with Harold's vacuum?"

Then there's Lydia. She has the most indescribably cute little voice. Plus she likes to play with my hair, which I looooove.

Then there's cousins Andrew and Jackson. They're just plain ol' 8 year old boys so I'm not quite sure what to say about that. Except that together they make 'Andrew Jackson', our 7th U.S. president who's portrait is on the 20 dollar bill. Okay, that was stupid.

My mom likes to torment little children. She has a tradition of telling any unsuspecting child that they can push her in the lake, but when they get close enough, she grabs them and pulls them in with her. The poor sucker this time was Hans.

Thanks, mom and dad for another great weekend!

Lolo Hot Springs

A while back, we got a wild hair to go to Lolo Hot Springs. It was a totally random day trip. It was raining and freezing cold that day so we didn't stay long. Andrew is a fish though, and could have stayed forever so we had to practically drag him out of the pool.

On the way home, we stopped to roast some hot dogs and boil up some ramen for dinner

Tim roasting dogs on his fancy camp stove

Me & Andrew trying to stay dry
Tim was very proud of the fire he started with completely wet wood
(actually, if I recall, I was the one that got it going after his went out...hmmm...why am I not in this picture instead?)

Tim is incapable of stopping by a creek without fishing

Tape Buddy

Andrew invented these...he calls them "Tape Buddies". He's made three of them so far. This is his most recent. He made it for his Great Grandma's birthday to go in her card that he also made for her. Quite creative if you ask me. But then again, I'm the mom.

Temple Trip

Okay, I'm really behind posting stuff. After the 4th, Tim and I went over to Spokane for a little temple trip, just the two of us. What did we do with Andy? I honestly don't remember. I think he stayed with Grandma Vickie? Anyway, we had a nice little road trip together. Tim shaved his head almost completely bald right before we went over. It was pretty SHOCKING. I usually cut his hair for him but he was getting impatient and did it himself and wouldn't take my advice on what size comb to use. Oh well.

My bald guy is still pretty cute

Then we were off to Applebees after our session for a bite to eat before our 3 1/2 hour drive home.

A nice day for just the two of us.
